High spirits make the Raid big
Although many teams have had damages and some of the teams had to retire, all of them have had an important share for making this race a great event. It is fair to recognize the effort and good sportive level of all the teams that have been racing in this edition. We had today a good spokesman of the retired teams. W4 skipper Michael Walther explains his feelings. “ We broke our jib today, and were unable to fix it and also my crew mate Marcus hurt his arm. Nothing really major but it was nevertheless impossible to continue racing without the jib and one crew member. That’s why we had to withdraw. It’s sad, but in a week’s time, I am sure I will say that I will come back again.” And the Raid will always have its arms open for people that enjoy the archipelago that much.
