Great fun!
Citus took the prize in the most exciting leg so far in the Archipelago Raid 2009. They were followed by Thule and Audio Network. All 3 finished within only 6 minutes after sailing for more than 6 hours in a good NW breeze picking up to 20 knots and quite steady in direction, which allowed the crew to have real fun sailing regardless of the results. German Team W4 (in the picture) is a good example of that. There were also some incidents: Audi and Team Blue capsized but recovered well and Bohica lost its mast just before the start, but managed to put it up again and race. After 3 legs the overall standings of the Archipelago Raid are led by British team Audio Network, with 82 points. French team Citus is second with 79.5 points. Closely followed by the first Swedish team, Thule (78 points). Martin Hållsten and Kalle Torlen are fourth (75), and Team Garmin is staying strong with 74.5. A gap is starting to build between the five leaders and the rest, since the sixth boat, Belgian McDonalds-Huysman is 9.5 points behind although they got a fantastic fourth place in this leg. There is still a lot to race in this year’s raid, so nothing is decided yet. Don’t lose track!
