Finnhamn, Särsö
Finnhamn, with its large youth hostel, restaurant, camping area and beaches, lies on the border of the outer archipelago and is one of Stockholmís most popular holiday destinations. Finnhamn is a group of large and small islands; the name comes from the time when Finnish boats called here on their way to and from Stockholm. A wealthy coal merchant built the large house on Finnhamn as a summerhouse in 1915. The islands were bought by Stockholm City in 1943 and became the first ìrecreation reserveî that the city would save from private exploitation
